McCain Goes to "Crazy-base World"

McCain Emphasizing His Conservative Bona Fides - New York Times

I don't know if anyone else happened to catch John McCain on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, but it was a very sad show to watch as Jon Stewart, #1 fanboy of McCain, couldn't get McCain to "talk straight" about his plan to go to Liberty University (headed by Jerry Falwell) to speak.

While McCain "disassembled" about how how it wasn't pandoring to the extremists of the Republican party (he once called him an "agent of intolerance" along with Farakan and Sharpton) poor Jon kept handing him rope to either pull himself to shore, or as it turned out hang himself.

The sad part is, despite the fact I'd never vote for him because of his stand on a few issues I disagree with him on, I have some respect for the guy. Today I have a little less.

Carbunkle Rotoscope

Well, working at Google has inspired me to finally find a Googlewhack. The irony is, of course, that now that I am posting this it will no longer be one.

WotC Announces New RPG

WotC looks like they're finally addressing the RPG needs of a younger audience. I think we can get all the kids into this next Iowa trip finally!

--- From WotC Website: ---
For this edition of Design & Development, we wanted to move past the world of Eberron, past the world of the Forgotten Realms—all the way past the Hollow World of Mystara—to a mysterious land known as Butterfly Island.

That’s right. It’s time to discuss the My Little Pony Roleplaying Game.

If you haven’t read today’s press release, we’ve reprinted it below. Go ahead, take a look. We’ll wait right here for you…

Blogginess

Hey, I'm a blogger! Whee!

One thing that might interest gamers here is www.websudoku.com. Sudoku are easy to learn and don't require any math other than counting. You can find some strategy tips at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sudoku.

Magical Spells from British Museum

While in the British Museum in London with my wife and her parents I ran across this exhibit. I thought it was kind of cool in that D&D sort of way.

As an aside, if you're ever in London you really should spend some time in the British Museum. While they get hard knocks for pillaging their former empire of antiquities, they are all well preserved and displayed and many of these would have been looted or worse (Elgin Marbles come to mind).

This is probably the best one-stop museum in the world for the classical studies wannabes like me.
